Tokyo Living Guide

Tokyo is the capital of Japan, and has central political, administrative, and economic functions. The headquarters of major corporations are also concentrated in Tokyo, making it the center of industry in every field. Embassies and many foreign companies have their offices in central Tokyo, and many foreigners live there. In order for foreigners to live comfortably and conveniently, multilingual information signs and facilities have being enhanced.

Many of the foreign expats live in Minato and Shibuya wards, where there are many facilities for foreigners. International schools, and supermarkets that sell foreign products are concentrated in these areas, and there are also many rental properties for foreigners, providing an environment where they can live without any inconvenience.

Single-family residences for foreign families have been developed in suburban districts far from the city center along the school bus routes of international schools, and many foreigners live in these areas. The suburban areas of Setagaya and Meguro wards, with their quiet, low-rise houses and greenery, are also popular among families. In addition to Asakusa, Ueno, Kagurazaka, and other Japanese tourist spots, Tokyo has many shopping areas such as Harajuku, Shibuya, Odaiba, and Ginza that offer the latest trends, making it a fun place to spend a day-off.
