Okinawa Living Guide
Okinawa is located in the Kyushu-Okinawa region and consists of a number of islands including Okinawa Honto, Ishigaki, Miyako, Hateruma, Yonaguni and Iotori. The capital of the prefecture is Naha-shi.
The climate is hot and humid, with heavy rainfall from May to September and frequent typhoons. The most famous agricultural products are sugar cane, pineapple and bitter melon.
Since Okinawa is surrounded by magnificent sea, marine sports such as snorkeling and scuba diving are popular and attract many local and international tourists especially during the summer months.
