Kyoto Living Guide

Kyoto is located in the northeastern part of Kinki region in Honshu. The capital is Kyoto-shi. Kyoto is an ancient capital with a long history where the capital of Japan was located. 

It is bordered by Mie, Shiga, Osaka, Nara, Hyogo, and Fukui prefectures and there is the Sea of Japan is on the city's north side.

Kyoto is located in a basin with a climate that varies greatly in temperature, with hot summers and cold winters. Snowfall is also common in Kyoto's northern part.

The cultivation of Uji tea and Kyoto vegetables is very popular. Kyoto is a popular tourist destination as well. Many tourists visit Kiyomizu-dera Temple, Byodoin Temple, and Heian-kyo Temple, as well as Amanohashidate and Arashiyama, where they can enjoy the scenery.
